IIBA Australia Chapter goes global

AGCONTEXT CLIENT CASE STUDY

Digital empowered volunteers achieve global recognition

The IIBA Australia Chapter is the professional association for business analysts in Australia. It is an independent nonprofit association and the Australian affiliate of the International Institute of Business Analysis™ (IIBA®). The Chapter supports the profession of business analysis through networking events, study groups and mentoring programs. It also hosts the Business Analysis Professional Day, which is the premier conference for professional business analysts in Australia. Services are provided by around 60 volunteers for the benefit of about 1600 nationwide members and the broader community of professional business analysts.

The Problem

From its foundation until 2018, the IIBA Australia Chapter had enjoyed almost 10 years of solid membership and financial growthAlthough this success was very well received it was clear that it would be unsustainable given the current business policies and processes in placeThey needed solutions about how to address the problems that were arising with managing Corporate Risk, Financial Risk, Volunteer Burnout, Service Quality and Conflict of Interest.

Our Solution

Over a two-year period, we were able to lead their team through an in-depth business analysis to create a business model and digital transformation strategy that would enable them to successfully scale up with demand, uplift their business governance, streamline service delivery, and provide an excellent service for their community of volunteers and members.

Specific solutions we were able to provide, include:

Thanks for the support you have provided to me, the branches, and the chapter. We have come a long way through your support and have a platform from where we can plan further growth. Thanks for your passion for the community.

Our Results

With our founder, Carl Sudholz being the Chapter leader, this project is very close to our hearts. We’re proud of what we have been able to achieve for our family at IIBA.

In the two years from 2018 to 2020, we led the IIBA Australia Chapter through a digital transformation program that significantly increased the capacity and impact of this volunteer organization. Our work enabled and empowered the Chapter to deliver more services to more people than ever before. We helped grow and influence the business analysis professional community in Australia and internationally. The digital transformation we delivered enabled a pivot to an online event delivery model and culminated with the Chapter winning international recognition from the IIBA.
